We’re working with a fast-growing, profitable eCommerce business operating within the travel and consumer space, backed by a wider digital platform with significant long-term ambition.
The eCommerce arm launched in 2023 and has already scaled to over £1m in annual revenue, making it the largest and most strategically important revenue stream in the business today. As the company continues to scale, they’re now hiring a Head of eCommerce to take full commercial ownership of this revenue line and build a world-class, predictable growth engine.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on commercial leadership role. You’ll take over day-to-day ownership of growth, performance, pricing, margin, and customer experience, introducing experienced eCommerce judgement into how the business scales. While you’ll work closely with the CEO on strategy and major decisions, the goal is clear: you own how this eCommerce business grows.
You will own top-line revenue growth across all eCommerce channels for a large, international Shopify store, as well as developing and executing the growth strategy in alignment with the CEO. You’ll be working closely with agencies across website development and digital acquisition platforms, overseeing entire digital channel performance and success. Your efforts will move the business from a more reactive to intentional state, enabling scalable growth. The pricing and trading activities will play a vital part in your role, as will supplier management.
Success in this role is defined by strong revenue growth, improving margin discipline, a cleaner growth engine, and a business that scales in a more structured, intentional way. This is not a run of the mill marketing role. It’s a senior commercial leadership role for someone who knows what great looks like in a well-oiled, DTC eCommerce machine.
Skills and Experience
- Significant experience leading and scaling an eCommerce business, ideally in a consumer or DTC environment
- Experience growing an eCommerce businesses at the £1-5m turnover mark
- Proven track record running and growing a Shopify-based eCommerce operation
- Deep understanding of eCommerce growth channels, especially paid social and email
- Strong commercial judgement, with experience owning pricing, margin and unit economics decisions
- Comfortable managing, challenging and holding agencies to account
- Highly data-literate, able to analyse performance at product, channel and cohort level
- Strong instinct for customer behaviour, repeat purchase and lifetime value
- Experience influencing product, UX or CRO roadmaps without owning the product function
- Confident operating independently and making high-impact decisions without hand-holding
- Start-up or scale-up mindset, and comfortable with ambiguity, pace and imperfect information
- High ownership mentality with real accountability for outcomes
Benefits
We’re looking for a superstar here, and in return you’ll be looking at a salary of £90,000 – £100,000, plus meaningful equity. This is a real ownership role where you’ll be joining what is already a profitable brand with yet so much more to achieve. You’ll work directly with the Founder/CEO and have major input into commercial decisions. You’ll be given plenty of autonomy, where there is also huge scope to grow into a broader leadership role as the business scales. Other benefits include flexible working of 3-4 days WFH, 1-2 days a week in the London office, and 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays. For those based outside of London, we can consider this on a fully-remote basis.
