£30,000 - £35,000
The Role
We’re partnering with a highly respected law firm who are urgently looking for a Bids Executive to join their busy team on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract. With one team member currently on long-term leave, the team need some additional help — and need someone who can step in quickly and take ownership of live bids.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team, working across around two bids at any one time. You’ll need to be organised, detail-driven, and comfortable juggling competing deadlines. There’s a solid structure in place and a strong success rate (around 75%), so you’ll be joining a function that knows what it’s doing — and where you can really add value.
You’ll take full responsibility for the end-to-end bid process, from writing and coordination to stakeholder engagement and pricing input. The role covers bids across local and central government, so experience in public sector work and professional services is helpful, but so long as you have good experience with bids and tenders then you’ll be considered. It’s a fast-paced and varied role and needs someone who enjoys the challenge of crafting winning proposals.
Although this is initially a 9-month contract, the wider BD and marketing team is growing rapidly, so there’s potential for this to turn into something longer-term for the right candidate.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience managing bids from start to finish, ideally in a professional services or legal environment.
- Strong writing and document presentation skills — you’ll be drafting responses to detailed specifications.
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
- Superb attention to detail and time management
- A proactive, can-do personality who thrives in a fast paced environment
- Ability to bring energy and personality to the team.
Benefits
You’ll be joining a supportive and friendly team who really care about what they do. This is a fast-moving, high-performing bids function where people look out for one another. The role pays up to £35,000 (on a 9-month FTC), with 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, and hybrid working from the office — ideally two days a week, but they’re happy to flex for the right person. The hours are 9–5, and while bids is never stress-free, you’ll be working with a friendly and supportive team.
