Gloucestershire Hybrid Part time

Circa. £50,000

Are you an experienced Business Development Director who values flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful impact? Do you enjoy driving growth, building senior relationships, and shaping approach without the need for a full-time commitment?

We’re partnering with a highly successful digital marketing agency that’s continuing to grow and evolve. They’re now looking for a part-time or fractional Business Development Director to lead new business activity, win the right clients, and support the next phase of the agency’s journey.

This is a senior role offering real influence, flexibility around working pattern, and a generous, uncapped commission structure that rewards results rather than hours.

The Role

As Business Development Director, you’ll take ownership of new business generation — developing opportunities, leading conversations, and building long-term client relationships.

You’ll invest time in understanding the agency’s proposition, services, and expertise, and how these align with market needs. You’ll maintain awareness of competitor activity and emerging trends, using this insight to help shape positioning and identify the most promising opportunities.

You’ll pursue new business through a mix of networking, inbound leads, partnerships, and targeted outreach. You’ll lead pitches end-to-end, working closely with internal teams to shape compelling proposals and ensure a smooth transition once new clients are secured.

Alongside this, you’ll keep visibility over pipeline activity, focusing effort where it delivers the greatest impact and feeding insight back into the business to continuously refine approach.

Skills and Experience

  • Has a strong track record of winning new business within a digital or marketing agency
  • Is comfortable operating at a senior level and leading commercial conversations
  • Brings a commercial mindset with an understanding of market dynamics and client needs
  • Is confident managing pipeline activity and using CRM tools
  • Communicates clearly, persuasively, and with credibility
  • Works well autonomously while collaborating closely with leadership teams
  • May already operate in a consultant, fractional, or portfolio capacity

Benefits

You’ll join a supportive, ambitious agency with a strong culture and clear growth plans. Alongside a competitive base salary, there’s a generous, uncapped commission structure, meaning strong performance can deliver a £50k+ take-home on a 3–4 day working pattern.

The role offers genuine flexibility, hybrid working, and an environment that values experience, trust, and outcomes over presenteeism.
