The Role
We’re looking for a commercially sharp Senior Buyer to join a high-growth healthcare business on an interim basis for 3–6 months, supporting the business through a pivotal phase of growth and change. This is a hands-on, strategic buying role that spans supplier negotiation, category management, and data-led decision making. Ideal for someone with strong commercial buying or procurement experience who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
You’ll take the lead on key product categories, managing supplier relationships, driving profitability, and optimising performance through detailed analysis and robust process. This role will play an important part in maintaining momentum and delivering commercial outcomes during a period of transition.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Buyer or Procurement professional who can quickly add value, take ownership, and make an immediate impact.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a commercially focused Senior Buyer with a strong analytical mindset and a proven track record in supplier and category management. You’ll need:
- Proven experience in a buying or procurement role (ideally 5+ years) across sectors such as retail, FMCG, healthcare, manufacturing, wholesale, or eCommerce
Strong category management skills, with experience developing strategy, driving sales or margin improvement, and identifying new product or supplier opportunities - Excellent negotiation skills, with a history of securing favourable commercial terms, rebates, and supplier agreements
- Highly analytical, with the ability to forecast demand, manage inventory, and present insights to senior stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS) and comfortable using data to drive decisions and report on KPIs
- Commercially astute with experience shaping pricing, cost optimisation, or promotional strategies based on competitor and market analysis
- Confident working cross-functionally with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth processes and compliance
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels; experience in a regulated environment (e.g. healthcare, pharma, or medical products) is a bonus
