The Role

Digital Tonic are working with one of our favourite charities as they look to hire a Direct Marketing Manager to drive new donor and member acquisition campaigns. The role is based in Bath, but there is a lot of flexibility with the role. Ideally you will come to the office once a week, but remote based candidates will also be considered if they you get to the office once a month, or for any important meetings.

We’re looking for someone who has worked within a Direct Marketing role previously, with a focus on Acquisition campaigns. You will need to be a strong communicator as there are a number of internal teams and external agencies that you will work and liaise with.

This is a role that you can make your own. You will have support from the Head of Department, this is currently a stand alone role, but if you do well and bring good results, then there could be future opportunities to hire into your team. There is a good channel split, and you will execute campaigns across face to face fundraising, digital lead generation, telemarketing, some paid media advertising, but there is also the opportunity to develop more with door drops or direct mail if you think this could be a profitable channel.

This is a commercial position, and you will need to be comfortable working to some KPIs and targets, ensuring the charity hits their new member and revenue targets.

There is a separate Retention team so you will just be focusing on the Acquisition side for the charity and there is a large wider team across Digital and Marketing Communications. The charity has such a great culture, and there are really good benefits with the role.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with managing Acquisition campaigns
  • Experience working with direct marketing channels
  • Good campaign management experience including reporting on results
  • Comfortable developing the strategy and plan for donor acquisition
  • Good copywriting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ideally previous budget management experience

Benefits

There’s a good starting salary on offer (£35k-£39k), hybrid working, with practically fully remote options as well.
