Are you a Business Development Director who’s experienced working in digital marketing, enjoys building strong relationships and driving growth while keeping a close eye on what’s happening in the market? We’re partnering with a highly successful digital marketing agency that’s continuing to grow and evolve. They’re looking for a Business Development Director to lead new business activity, win exciting clients, and help guide the next phase of the agency’s journey.
This is a senior role with real autonomy, influence, and a generous, uncapped commission structure, as well as hybrid working.
The Role
As Business Development Director, you’ll take ownership of new business generation, developing opportunities, leading conversations, and building long-term client relationships.
You’ll invest time in truly understanding the agency’s proposition, services, and expertise, and how these align with what brands are looking for right now. You’ll keep a close eye on the wider market, spotting emerging trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities to help shape a relevant and compelling approach to growth.
You’ll identify and pursue new opportunities through a mix of networking, inbound leads, partnerships, and proactive outreach. You’ll lead pitches end-to-end, working closely with internal teams to shape strong proposals and ensure a smooth handover once new clients are won.
Alongside this, you’ll maintain a clear view of pipeline activity, using insight and experience to focus your efforts where they’ll have the most impact. You’ll also feed market learnings back into the business, helping refine messaging and positioning over time.
Skills and Experience
- Has a strong track record of winning new business, ideally within a digital or marketing agency
- Is confident building senior relationships and leading sales conversations
- Brings a commercial mindset with an interest in market trends and competitor landscape
- Is comfortable managing pipeline activity and using CRM tools
- Communicates clearly, persuasively, and with confidence
- Is resilient, motivated, and enjoys the challenge of growth roles
- Works well autonomously while collaborating closely with leadership teams
